The Joint Colloids Group (CISG/CSCG) is offering a £2,000 bursary for a UK-based early career researcher (ECR) in colloid and interface science (within 10 years of their PhD award) to present their work at a dedicated ECR session at the biennial Australian Colloid and Surface Science Student Conference 2020 (ACSSSC 2020). This conference will be held, from 28th to 31st January 2020 at RMIT University in Gippsland, Australia. The bursary winner is also expected to visit an Australian research centre while in the country.

We are excited to announce that we have confirmed Dr Pete Shaw from Synthomer as our industry-based Plenary Speaker.
Additionally, we will have Dr Marianne Rolph from the EPSRC and Gabrielle Newson from Innovate UK attending as Panel Members to engage on discussion topics such as knowledge exchange and collaboration and funding.
We are delighted to have Dr Laura Fisher from the Royal Society of Chemistry as a Panel Member at ECCo 2019
‘Industrial and interdisciplinary applications of suspensions’
Tuesday 9th July 2019 – SCI, Belgrave Square, London, UK
Organised by the Joint Colloids Group
***Early bird registration available until 31st May 2019***
The meeting will be of interest to both industrial and academic researchers, particularly those from colloid science, formulation, soft matter physics, chemical engineering and rheology backgrounds. It will showcase recent advances in rheological aspects of suspension science, with a particular emphasis on proven and potential applications to industry and other disciplines such as geology. The programme will conclude with the 2019 Graham Lecture by Professor Wilson Poon (Edinburgh University), who, together with a set of outstanding industrial and academic speakers, will address real-world applications based on excellent science.
The Graham Lecture is awarded, biennially, to a scientist in the UK who in the prime of their research career who has established an international reputation in colloid science by their distinguished contributions to the field.
In addition to hearing great presentations and the opportunity to contribute a poster, there is plenty scope for networking to catch up with old friends and make new ones.
